As an artist Monica Garcia Ricardo has embraced the notion of emotional abstraction, creating artworks that taps into a raw, visceral connection with the viewer's emotions, creating a space for profound, personal, and transformative experiences.

Born in Havana, Cuba, Monica is a self-taught visual artist. Her work predominantly explores the mysteries of human emotions, consciousness, and the natural world, in the form of abstract art, distinguished by unexpected color combinations, textured, layered compositions, a minimal use of brushes, and a readiness to experiment with diverse techniques, tools, and materials. Monica is also exploring Installation Arts as a form of self-expression. In 2021 she was awarded second prize at the renowned Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival for the Installation Art “Make a Wish”.

Monica's life has been marked by extensive travel, having lived in various parts of the world, including Cuba, Europe, Asia, South America and Middle East, where since 2015 she is based in United Arab Emirates. Proficient in Spanish, English, Italian, Russian, and French, she has explored over 50 countries and effortlessly embraced diversity and multicultural settings throughout her journey.

Monica's future aspirations revolve around personal growth and continued exploration of her inner world through her art. Her dream involves having a spacious studio where she can create large-scale artworks. As an artist, her desire is clear: "I want to establish a connection with who happens to stands in-front of my artwork, even if we may never meet in person."
